I’m so excited to share these photos from Tammy + Michael’s Hawaii elopement! They used to live near this beach so it is a special place for them. We decided on minimalist tropical wedding decor which let the stunning mountains be the main attraction. The tropical wedding theme even continued throughout Tammy’s hair with the cutest yellow orchids! Christine Emi & Co did such a beautiful job with her hair and makeup that held up so well with the Hawaii humidity and wind.

When you’re planning your Oahu elopement, I always recommend doing a first look and writing your own vows. The first look gives you a moment to just breathe together before the ceremony and writing your own vows is the best way to personalize your commitment.

T+M drove together to this location, but brought their wedding attire to change at the beach. They changed in separate areas and Michael waited for Tammy on the beach so we could catch their first glimpses of each other on camera. I loved seeing how excited they were. And how stunning are these two?! Besides that, one thing that really radiated was the love they have each other. As they read their own handwritten vows, it was giving me all the feels! Michael had tears running down his face — Tammy wiping his tears was seriously the sweetest moment ever. After the ceremony, we continued with more photos on the beach which show just how fun and playful they were together. They could not stop smiling at each other. Michael even wanted to attempt the Dirty Dancing lift.. although it didn’t work out, it made for some good laughs.

Tammy is also a photographer on Oahu so it was such an honor to capture these photos for her and Michael! It’s always such an honor when another photographer trusts you to take their photos.
